I think brother haitham, you have many brothers from Australia, especially Sydney.(including me, wink)
I am trying to spread the word about the multaqa here in Australia, hoping the people here to give up learning from deviated forums we have in Australia, which unfortunatly influential; due to the absence of any forum on the right path!!! so the mulktqa is the hoep now inshallah since it is in english. smile
jazakom Alalh khier again brother Haitham. smile
P.S: welcome brother hamzah, I will see you soon inshallah. smile

Abu Adnan and Child of Islam are actually my teachers =)
It is a hope that a number of brothers in here will also be my teachers.
Akhi Haitham your signature inspires one to go and learn arabic.

Yes brother Child of Islam, please spread the word about the Multaqa among good students of knowledge who are on the Sunnah.
Brother Hamza, yes, the objective of the signature is to entice the reader to go learn Arabic :)

We would like for the brothers from Australia to tell us about how things are going there for Muslims.
How are Da'wa efforts in general?
How is the Da'wah for the way of Ahlussunnah going?
Jazakumullahu khairan.

Unfortunately this true.
The most popular forum in Sydney and maybe Australia is Sufi driven.
Allahu musta'an.
It is full of deviant ideas and slandering of great scholars.

Wa iyyaak
Different cities have different scenarios. I have experienced the da'wah from the two main cities in Australia:
In Melbourne Ahlus Sunnah is very dominant. There are many different organisations, Alhamdulillah they are mostly Ahlus Sunnah driven. This is what I gathered when I go there and work with the brothers there. Correct me if I am wrong, if there are any Melb brothers in this forum.
Sydney is a mixed bag.
Every group is pretty much on equal level when it comes to the da'wah. We have the biggest population of Muslims here in Australia. There is a lot of confusion on who to learn from in Sydney.
Bad media and bad akhlaaq (from the minors) has effected the ASWJ da'wah considerably here. However there are a lot of brothers working hard to fix this up.
The Sufis and Asharis are getting stronger here as they are attracting a lot of the university students and the non-arabic speaking population (which is the majority). They attract the people with their 'modern and civilised' twisted ideas of Islam. To be honest this is due to there initial good akhlaaq too.
I believe that Ahlus Sunnah in the past concentrated too much on the Arabic speaking population in Sydney, and all they worry about is the Habashis. It is only recently they realised the potential of what the non-arabic speaking population can do for the da'wah. This is my honest opinion being an Indonesian who grew up here. Don't get me wrong I love the teachers and leaders of ASWJ in Sydney. I don't mean to disrespect them as they have done great work, are full if knowledge and are my teachers.
These are just a few comments from my very little experience. I can go on for ages but I'll leave it at that for now.
The other Sydney brothers insha'allah will be able to add more.
