Imam alThahabi in Siyar A’laam Annubalaa’ 2/618:
AlHafiz abuSa’d alSam’aanee said: I heard abulMuammar alMubaarak bin Ahmad say: I heard I heard abulQasim Yusuf bin Ali alZinjani say: I heard abuIshaaq alFayroozAbadee say: I heard alQadhi AbytTayyib say:
We were sitting in the gathering of debate in alMansoor mosque when a youth from Khurasaan arrived. He asked about the issue of Musarrah (a fiqh matter). Then he asked for the proof. He was given the Hadeeth of abuHurairah in this matter.
He responded: abuHurairah’s hadeeth is not acceptable!
As soon as he completed his sentence, a great snake fell down from the ceiling of the mosque and started to chase the youth.
People jumped away from the snake and started to shout at the youth: repent, repent!
So the youth said: I repent from what I said.
The snake disappeared as if it was never there.
Imam Thahabi said: The chain of narrators consists of Imams.
