Assalamu alaykum

Masha Allah, since a week ago several sisters have registered or became active in posting.

when I first registered here, there were no active sisters posting, but now we have several of them, masha Allah.

I am very happy for that, and would like to welcome all my sisters who have registered here including sisters:

Talibatul ilm (I hoped I spelled it right)
Samira
Bint Nail
Nusaiba bint Ka3b
Repentence
Umm Abdur Razzaq
Smiling Niqabi (you know me personally from a long time but I am not telling you who I am :D ... if you want to guess pm me, don't mention my name here : ) )

Did I forget any sister?
if I did let me know

--------------

A question to my sisters
how many of you are fluent in both Arabic and English?
and are any of you fluent in other languages?
just curious :)

Wa Alaykum Asalam wa Rahmat Allah wa Barakatuh,
Thank you for welcoming us. I take the chance to say salam for all the sisters here. Alhamd Allah that we came together subhanAllah in an islamic forum. May Allah bless you all.

Alhmadulillah, I'm fluent in both arabic and english. Same question to you sister...
Just recently, I realized how lucky I really am. Being able to speak, read, and write two languages fluently.
But, my extra confidence in my arabic makes me better in it though I learned english before arabic living in the US the first twelve years of my life. From 12-16 in a country in the arabic gulf
16-18 in the US
18-20 in Arabic Gulf again and inshAllah stay here to learn islamic studies instead of learning it in the US.
InshAllah we can benefit from eachother.
Edit- Ok, I should translate my signiture to english keeping the arabic one so everyone can understand. I know what it is, but can't quite put it into words in english. So any help at all?

Oh son of Adam. When you were born azhan was made at your ear without Solaah

When you die, they will make Solaah on you without the Azhan

Your life on this earth is nothing but the time spent between Azhan and Solaah ,
so do not spend it on things which are not beneficial.

maybe someone can improvise on this

Assalaamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh,

Well obviously I can not (yet) translate from arabic to other languages (have to learn it first, make dua'), BUT I used to translate some books to bosnian language (from english) walhamdulillah. In fact one of the books was posted on a bosnian website, I can PM you okhti Umm Abdullah with the link.
So I was wondering if I could get the permission to translate some articles/books that are found on this forum so that the bosnians can benefit from it insha'allah ta 'ala?

Insha Allah I will start posting, perhaps I can share the notes I took on tafseer surat al-Baqarah based on the explanation of Shaykh al-Uthaymeen (rahimahullah).

I'm also game for homework if sister Um Abdullah decides to challenge us a little:)

Hmm,..let's see.

"When you are born Oh son of Adam, azan is called to your ear without a prayer and when you die, a prayer will be done upon you without azan. And your life in this world is nothing but the time you spend between azan and prayer. So do not spend it in what is not beneficial"

It's almost the same as yours, but I tried...

Salamu Alaikum.

Um Abdullah, I can't translate from Arabic to English but I can do something almost as good: use Google to look for other people's translations. :D

As a result, I have a thousand or so (perhaps more) files (articles and e-books) sitting on my PC.

You can test me if you wish. :D

Sorry for some reason I didn't see this post until now!

Yes I know Arabic but I wouldn't count on me to translate; my level is still mediocre at best :(

BarakAllahu feeki sis but is there a way or method in this forum to keep track of WHERE YA POST? LOL cuz I am so confused at times and I can't remember where I post LOOL.

I can read Arabi no problem, but translating it, forget it! I am currently memorizing the Quran (am on suratanNis'a(middle)) Allah ybarak but there is no way I can translate posts that are in Arabi lol. That would make my brain hurt lol and I don't like pain.

mashAllah hope,
You have a little left so long as your on surat al nisa' if you began with juz' ama.
Actually there is a way to keep track. On each topic you reply on and wish to return to see if anyone commented on your post, there will be a small arrow and if you put your mouse there, it will say ex: (you have two posts here) depending on how many posts you have in that specific topic.

For me, so long as I understand the topic in arabic, translating to english wouldnt be such a problem. Look at it in a different way. Excercising your brain rather hurting it.

What happened with the idea of starting a section here in Bosnian language?

SubhaanAllaah, that would really be interesting, I thought I could get to know more about the Bosnian Muslims, if Allaah Wills.
