Assalamu Alaikum.
Thalaathah Usool and Usool Ath-Thalaathah are 2 different books both by Shaikh Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahaab (rahimahullah). They're both translated as "The 3 Fundamental Principles". However, Usool Ath-Athalaathah is a summarized / easier version of Thalaathah Usool for beginners and younger individuals. They're both good books to start one's study of Aqeedah (creed). I've attached 2 translations of Usool Ath-Thalaathah and one of Thalaathah Usool along with a word-to-word translation chart. |

Assalamu Alaikum.
I've attached two explanations of Thalaathah Usool as well as a summary of some benefits from the explanation of Shaikh Ibn Uthaimeen (rahimahullah). Dr. Saleh as-Saleh's (rahimahullah) explanation can be found here. |

SubhanAllah I've had a feeling but now I'm confused.
How big are they. As in, the page numbers, I have one from Spubs or Hidayah with Uthaymeen's Explanation. |

Assalamu Alaikum.
I think that would be Shaikh Ibn Uthaimeen's explanation. If the text (matan) starts with "You should know that it is obligatory upon us to know four issues", then it's Thalaathah Usool. Usool ath-Thaalathah starts with "It is obligatory for every Muslim male and female to know three principles: knowledge of his Lord, his religion and his Prophet". |

Oh ok, so now I know I have the long one, thats good, cos now I have both the English and Arabic Usool Ath Thalaatha instead of just the Thalaathatul Usool (the long one). EDIT: No, the Usool Ath-Thalaathah.pdf I assumed was arabic but its english, do you happen to have Usool Ath thalaathah in arabic sister?
So is there any extra benefit in memorising the long one instead of the short one? |

i thought Usooluth-Thalatha was by Sh Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab and
Thalathatul-Usool (The Three Principles) was just an explantion of the the above the Sh uthaimeen. |

Assalamu Alaikum.
Quote:
As for memorisation, I can think of two reasons to study the longer one: 1) There's a cool software to help us memorise it (I'll link to it later, insha-Allah) 2) The longer one is the one that I see many students of knowledge mentioning. Allah knows Best. They're both by Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhaab actually. |

Wa Alaykum Salam Wa Rahmatullah,
I found some software to help memorise it but it didnt work. Though I did find an audio of the reading of the book, it is like 27 mins if I am not mistaken. |
