Question Question about Companions(RA) who met Dajjal

Assalaamu Alaikum.
Is this from an authentic Hadith?

Quote:
The change in the weather had been sudden and dramatic, tossing the small fishing vessel around like a piece of flotsam; until it was no more than that. Its crew, a group of Sahaabah radiyallahu anhum (the companions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad , peace & blessings be upon him), were washed up onto the shore of a foreign beach.
When they regained consciousness, they found that they all had survived the wreck. They decided to explore the island to see whether they could find someone to help them, maybe supply them with a boat.

It wasn’t long before they met a woman washing her hair in a rock pool. She directed them to a cave, managing to convey to them that there was someone there who wanted to speak with them. Intrigued, they entered the cave.

Within, they found a short man with only one eye, chained to the cavern wall. Right away, he began to ask them questions, whether certain events had taken place or not. They answered truthfully because of their nature. They could feel the evil of this man like a physical presence. When they had confirmed all that he had asked, the man said, ‘Alas, my time is near.’

The companions managed to get off the island and returned home safely. Upon arriving, they told their story to the Prophet (peace & blessings be upon him). It was then that they first heard of Dajjal, the Dark Messiah.

وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله

There is a famous hadeeth of Tameem al Dari (رضّى الله عنه) found in Saheeh Muslim with similar variation; see #7028

Arabic can be found here

I think it was a narration of a Dream (which somehow got missed out of the begining of the hadith). Clearly doesnt fit in with the rest of the narrations of Dajjal.

Also the whole world is known now and where is such an island. On top of that we know dajjal is a human being and will be appear out of Isfahan etc how could he exist as a hairy beast on an unknown island until now??

too many inconsistencies here. needs scholarly academic analysis.

Brother Tajdeed, the hadeeth in Saheeh Muslim #7028 is authentic. It is not for anyone to claim there are "inconsistencies" if they are unable to fully comprehend the content; this is very dangerous.

Scholars have reconciled and commented on the hadeeth and explain points of benefit so that people do not attempt to reject it based on their own logic and nafs. You should read up on it before posting your 'thoughts' here.

Allah knows best.

assalam aleikum,

where is there proof, that they have been to every livable place on Earth?

If they did, then why is it, they seem to find tribe after tribe in many areas.

The man can be standing right next to you, if Allah didn't want you to see him, you wouldn't.

wa Allah ya'lam

by the way the op posted a translation that just gave you a little of the story. There is much more to it. like the men where previously Nasara and accepted Islam. And the person narrating what happened was a sahabi, ra who accepted Islam from Nasara(Nasara today are referred to as Christians, and at that time they were respected because being honest was a quality they practiced). The prophet, PBUH, in the affirmative told the people see, and was very accepting of the story. The prophet, PBUH, was a saadiq-Alamin, people trusted him throughout his lifetime. If there was any element that was not true in what he, pbuh, heard he would correct or comment on it.

wa aleikum assalam wa rahmat Allah
